How Health is Influenced By Social and Cultural Factors
How Health is Influenced By Social and Cultural Factors

We hear from our doctors and ancestors that our genes are one of the most common factors that are highly associated with your lifestyle and they influence our health deeply. But that’s not the complete truth. There’s’ something else that also influences your health and lifestyle growth. These are social and cultural factors. And those social factors that influence your health are known as determinants of health. Let us find more about it and the path to improved health under such conditions. Brief examples of major social factors that determine your health are mentioned below.

Education

One of the major, or probably the most common social factor, that influences your health is education. Education includes the institute where you study, the subjects you have chosen, and the level of knowledge you are studying. Basically, education gives you the tools required for good decision makings about health. It sounds weird but people with more education are likely to live more healthy and long. Because they understand their health better and know how to spend it and what food to eat. In this way, education is one of the major social factors.

Income

What comes after education is your monthly income. We see labors working for hours and earning nothing special. While the businessman works for few hours and earns too much. Since the rich one will have more resources to survive and live a healthy lifestyle as compared to the poor ones, the person with more income is going to have a better life.

Housing

After education, one thing that is going to be pretty much effective on your health is the place where you live, i.e your House. In this case, neighborhood conditions are the most important part of the housing. If the house is small and the neighborhood is good, it wouldn’t affect your health and lifestyle in a bad way. Therefore, the neighborhood should be free from violence, crime, and pollutions. Because it can affect your children in a bad manner.

These three are the social factors that affect your health and lifestyle. In the end, there are a few things to consider that are listed below:

  • Access To Nutritious Food
