Many exercises, gym workouts, cardio workouts, etc. are available in the market to gain fitness. But what always stays behind is a posture. A vigorous sentiment depends on a few main body parts. These are the spine, neck, middle back, and lower back. However, the main question is how to improve posture. So for this, we are going to provide you some workouts that can be helpful for such a condition. When you accurately perform these exercises for posture, the natural curves present inside your spine get efficient support.

Before discussing exercises for good posture, let us look at the bad effects of poor posture on one’s health.

Bridge

It is the same exercise that you used to do in your childhood as a play. A bridge helps to open up your chest and allows you better breathing. It also helps to stretch and support your spine. Couch on the floor while keeping your back upright in the air. Use your feet to press into the floor and move up your back like a motorway bridge. It is better to roll your shoulders under your body. Stay in the mean position for as long as you can and then return. 

Walking With a Book Balanced on Your Head

Yes, it is not an exercise or a workout, but it is an excellent way to increase your body balance as well as improve your posture. Put a book on your head, and balance it without using your hands. Start walking calmly in a straight direction. If you get successful in doing so, then increase your walking speed. 

One thing to be looked up is the weight of the book. Don’t go for a hefty book, as it may damage your spine. It’s just that it can be felt on your head. 

Plank

Something that shouldn’t be forgotten here is a plank. Yes, an actual plank pose stretches your spine along with the activation of your core muscles. Get into a push-up position and lift yourself onto your toes. Make sure your elbows are forming an angle of 90° during the whole process. In the end, stare straight down at the floor and maintain your position.

  • Keep your knees slightly bent while standing
  • Perform the CAT-COW workout.
  • Do not miss out on Downward-Facing Dog exercise. 
  • Stand while keeping your feet roughly apart.
  • Keep your head in line with your shoulders.
