It is quite easy to settle in your daily routine of running exercises in the summer season. Because in such season, the days are longer, the amount of sunshine is endless, and the weather is mostly pleasant and friendly. But that’s not the real challenge. The real hurdle is when the unpredictable weather of fall and winter hit. Getting up early in the morning in cold weather and going for running is not as easy as it looks. However, it’s not that impossible. All you need is to completely transit your running routine from summer to cold-weather days. To transit your running routine, you can follow up on these tips.

Switch Up Your Gear
In summer, wearing T-shirts is a good option to switch up your gear. But as the temperature drops, you must make changes in your workout clothing. You can inquire from the trainers that wearing cotton in winter doesn’t feel good at all. That’s why you should stash away your cotton and switch up to seasoning clothing. Try to wear technical fabric or wool. It is because these fabrics are created to wick moisture and warm in the cold. 

Keep Your Body Warm
Always keep your body warm, especially your head, feet, and hands. The gear you wear on your body during fall and winter runs is important for staying warm. It is a common practice that when you run, your head and feet get cold. Therefore, before starting a workout, try your best to warm your head, feet, and hands. For this, you can wear a hot hat, gloves, and heavier running socks. This would help you.

Tweak Your Routine
Now comes the real point! In fall and winter, your energy, motivational vigor, and opportunity to work out reduces to some extent. It is not the same is it is in Summer. So, take the opportunity to reduce your mileage, cross-train, and then go into a new basing mode. Furthermore, having different periods of training, throughout the year is key for health and fitness. 

Go Out With a Friend
Life is not easy to live alone. You can’t do everything by yourself. In many situations of life, you need someone who can understand you and help you out. The same is the case for running in the fall and winter season. The colder it gets, the harder it can be to get out and keep running. So, find a buddy to keep you accountable. Set plans with your buddy for running. Not only it will make it harder to ditch out on a scheduled run, but it will also make your running more enjoyable.  Remember, before acting upon all these tips, put your safety as your first priority.
