Various Exercises to Relief Anxiety
According to the recent few studies, more than 50 million people in the world are currently living with depression, stress, or some kind of anxiety. It is a typical human reaction to stress. If it is left untreated, it can destroy you mentally. Your daily routine completely gets disturbed due to it. Indeed, most people experience anxiety at some point in their lives. So the following exercise may help you to get rid of it. These exercises can be performed anywhere at any time.
Take Long Breaths To Feel Relaxed
The first method to relieve anxiety is by relaxed breathing. Take a few long breaths after some and make your mind fully relaxed and satisfied. People often start sweating from the head or feeling dizzy when they are in anxiety. Therefore, when you are anxious, you must take breaths by following these steps:
- Sit in a quiet and comfortable place. Then put one of your hands on your chest and close your eyes. And take down the second hand on your stomach.
- After this, take a slow and regular breath in through your nose. Keep the hands still on the chest while breathing in.
- Breath out slowly in reply.
- Repeat the process for at least 10 times or keep doing it until you begin to feel your anxiety lessen.
Relax by Visualizing
Another method to make yourself a bit relax is via visualizing. Whenever you feel like you are anxious, just start imagining yourself in a beautiful park with the wind blowing around. For this, you must sit down in a quiet and comfortable place. It will be a better idea to think of an ideal place. The place can be real or imaginary. But it doesn’t matter much. The only thing that matters is which visual place gives you more relaxing conditions. Once you have a good picture of your ideal place, close your eyes and take slow and regular breaths.
Muscle Relaxing
If the above two methods don’t prove to be useful, then try to relax your muscles. This muscle stress can make your anxiety more difficult to manage. So, relax your muscle via the following measures:
- As suggested before, sit in a quiet and comfortable place. Close your eyes and take down your complete focus on your breathing.
- While doing it, use your hand to make a tight fist and squeeze it powerfully.
- Keep the fist tight for a few seconds. You will feel a change in your mind and muscles.
- Slowly open your fingers and be aware of how you feel.
- Continue the process of tensing and releasing various muscle groups in your body, from your hands, legs, shoulders, or feet.
